Many families choose to repatriate cremated remains to another state or country for cultural, religious, personal or financial reasons.
While the process is generally straightforward, there are a number of requirements that need to be met before cremated remains can be transported.
Depending on the destination, documentation will include a Cremation Certificate issued by the cemetery, the Death Certificate and an authorisation letter from the Department of Health. For some international destinations, there may also be additional requirements involving the relevant Consulate or Embassy.
John can guide you through the requirements and help you understand the steps involved, including any additional documentation that may be needed for the country to which the cremated remains are being taken.
