When arranging for a person to be repatriated, there are a number of requirements that need to be completed before they can be transported. The time this takes can vary depending on the circumstances of the death, particularly where the Coroner is involved.
Embalming is required for international repatriation and may also be required or recommended for interstate transportation. We will discuss this with you and arrange the necessary care and preparation.
One of the most important first steps is obtaining the information required to register the death and issue the Death Certificate. This document is essential to the repatriation process and enables us to liaise with the relevant agencies, such as consulates and embassies, and put the necessary arrangements in place.

For international repatriation, we will also require the deceased’s passport.
